Before I jump into this tip, last I said have a goal of at least 50 visitors a day. If you only have 50 visitors a day, then you are really not going to make much with Adsense. You must advertise and promote your website. But until you are Adsense ready, you will need to seek alternate revenue streams.

With that said, Adsense Tip 2 is all about alternate revenue streams or affiliate marketing. In August I invested time into reviewing several Affiliate Marketing programs. There are several, like Clickbank, Commission Junction, ShareASale and Sitesell.  But before you just head right out there and sign up for one of these accounts, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

I can not tell you, in the past 20 years, how many people I have seen just click through Website Terms and Policies. If you did the same with Goggle Adsense, then you deserve to be banned. Always do you due diligence. If this is just a hobby, then being banned should not affect what you are doing.

The first step to changing a hobby to a business is knowing what you are legally getting into. Take the time and read all the policies. Read all the terms. Know your rights. As you sign up for these programs, learn the placement rules. Don't just stop there. Learn about and/or buy a product or two. Why?

Two reasons, word of mouth and the assurance of recommending quality. Word of Mouth is the best advertising you can receive. It is most often, the most trusted and reliable source for many buyers. When friends are referring friends to your business, you will always have and gain customers. As a website owner, recommending a quality product can also be the difference between having repeat customers or only receiving website window shoppers.

Last but not least only add affiliate products that are directly related to your websites content. As a television station, I find I have a wide range to choose from.  Search for products with similar keywords, you use. If you do not have keywords or meta data on your site. You will have to go back to the development drawing board. Find it and fix it.

Keywords are a major part of SEO as well as one of the tools Google will use to decide your eligibility.
